Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 29, 2026

About this policy

Protect Your Family is the independent life insurance agency of Candice Umbdenstock, National Producer Number 19436142, based in Ooltewah, Tennessee. This policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect personal information when you visit our pages, submit a Facebook or Instagram lead form, request a quote, book an appointment, apply for coverage, or communicate with us. It applies to our agency's activities. Insurance carriers and other independent services provide their own privacy notices.

Information we collect

Depending on your interaction, we collect contact details such as name, email, telephone number, and address; quote and coverage preferences; appointment details; communications and notes; and records of consent, opt-outs, and communication preferences. During a quote or application, we may collect date of birth, state of residence, tobacco use, health and prescription information, beneficiary details, and other information required by an insurer. Identity and payment details may be required through the insurer's application process. Please do not submit Social Security numbers, bank details, or detailed medical records through social media lead forms, public comments, or ordinary email or text messages. Ask us for the appropriate application process.

Facebook and Instagram lead forms

When you submit a lead form on Facebook or Instagram, we receive the information you choose to submit, which may include profile-prefilled contact details and answers about your insurance interests. We use it to respond to your request, discuss insurance options, provide quotes, and arrange follow-up consistent with the notice and choices presented on the form. Lead information may be transferred to our customer relationship management system, Lead2ClientCRM, built on HighLevel, and related service providers that support these activities. Meta separately processes information under its own privacy policy. This policy does not replace the disclosures or consent choices presented on a lead form.

How we use information

We use personal information to respond to inquiries, compare insurance options, prepare quotes, assist with applications and policy service, schedule appointments, send reminders and requested follow-up, maintain customer and consent records, improve service and advertising performance, prevent fraud and misuse, and comply with applicable insurance, recordkeeping, and other legal obligations. Where required, marketing communications rely on your consent. We do not use this policy as an authorization to contact you.

Phone calls, texts, email, and automation

Our agency and authorized support staff may communicate by telephone, SMS, or email in accordance with your request, consent, and applicable law. We use automated workflows and AI-assisted tools for functions such as appointment scheduling, reminders, follow-up, and customer support. If a communication method requires separate consent, including certain automated or artificial/prerecorded voice marketing calls or texts, that consent must be obtained separately. Visiting a page or reading this policy does not provide it. Consent to marketing is not a condition of purchasing insurance. You may ask to speak with Candice or another authorized human representative. Insurers make underwriting and coverage decisions under their own processes.

Call recordings and transcripts

When calls are recorded or transcribed, the resulting audio, transcripts, and call details may be used for customer service, training, quality assurance, documentation, and compliance. Recording must be accompanied by any notice and consent required by applicable law. You may ask whether a call is being recorded and request another way to communicate.

Text messaging and your choices

Text messages may include requested quote follow-up, appointment reminders, policy-service communications, and marketing where authorized. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out of texts or HELP for assistance, or call 423-560-7171. After an opt-out, a confirmation message may be sent. To stop marketing email, use its unsubscribe link or contact us. To request no further marketing calls, tell the caller or contact us. We may retain limited suppression records to honor your choice and records required by law. Some necessary service communications may continue through permitted channels.

Mobile information and SMS consent

We do not share mobile information with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes. We may disclose information to subcontractors supporting our services, such as customer service and message delivery. Text-message opt-in data and consent are excluded from other disclosures described in this policy and are not shared with third parties for their own purposes. Providers processing this information on our behalf may use it only to support the authorized messaging service.

When we disclose information

We disclose information as needed to insurance carriers and authorized insurance-service providers to obtain quotes, process applications, and service coverage, subject to applicable authorizations and law; to agency staff and contractors who support your request; and to providers of CRM, communications, scheduling, hosting, security, and other operational services. We may also disclose information when required by law, in response to lawful process, to protect rights and security, or in connection with a business transfer subject to applicable privacy obligations. We do not sell your personal information to lead buyers. The mobile-information and SMS-consent restrictions above control over broader disclosure descriptions in this policy.

Cookies, analytics, and advertising

Our pages and service providers may use cookies, pixels, or similar technologies to operate pages, remember preferences, understand visits, and measure advertising. Depending on the page and your settings, technical data may include IP address, browser and device information, pages viewed, referring links, and interactions. You can manage cookies through your browser, any choices provided on the page, and advertising preferences offered by Meta. Blocking some technologies may affect page features. Where applicable law requires consent or an opt-out for particular tracking, those choices apply independently of this policy.

Retention and safeguards

We retain information as reasonably needed for the purposes described here, including policy service, insurance and business recordkeeping, resolving disputes, complying with law, and honoring opt-outs. Retention depends on the record and applicable requirements. We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the information. No electronic transmission or storage system is completely secure. Access by staff and providers should be limited to authorized business purposes.

Privacy requests and state rights

You may contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of information, or to update communication preferences. Depending on your state and applicable law, additional rights may include obtaining a copy, opting out of certain processing, limiting certain uses, or appealing a denied request. These rights may be subject to identity verification, legal exceptions, insurance-specific rules, and record-retention requirements. We will respond as applicable law requires and explain a denial or available appeal process. We do not require sensitive identity information through ordinary text or email to initiate a request. Carrier-held records may require a request to the carrier.

Children and third-party services

Our marketing and lead forms are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information online directly from children under 13. An adult may provide information needed to inquire about coverage for a child through an appropriate application process. If you believe a child submitted information directly, contact us. Links to insurers, Meta, booking services, or other independent services are governed by those services' privacy policies.

Policy updates

We may revise this policy as our practices or applicable requirements change. The updated version will display a revised date. We will provide additional notice or obtain consent when required. This policy supplements, and does not replace, any insurance privacy notice or authorization required for a particular product or transaction.
